I personally find it mad that Slytherin was able to build such a chamber within a school without any of the other greatest witches and wizards of the age finding out. I’m guessing this is another example of Slytherins being exceptionally cunning and able to achieve anything they want if the truly put their minds to it. This Chamber was a secret room that Slytherin built beneath the school, which could only be opened by Parseltongue.
